Nothing is more rewarding than knowing I have helped someone or have made a positive difference in their life. This is one of the main reasons why I’ve pursued a career in the medical field. I have the opportunity to help people every day. Gastroenterology, in particular, deals with very personal problems and discussing them with another person can be quite difficult. There is a unique element of trust that must be established between a clinician and their patient in order to successfully address the patient’s GI concerns. It is my goal to establish this special relationship of trust with my patients so that I may understand their concerns and help them to the best of my knowledge and capability. A great deal of empathy is also crucial to achieve optimal care. By understanding my patient’s concerns and sympathizing with how it influences their quality of life, I hope to always provide the best possible care, as if I was treating my own loved one.
Outside of helping people with their GI problems, my other interests include fitness, nutrition, bargain shopping, cleaning, and outdoor activities including biking, hiking, and running. I also cherish time spent with family and close friends.
