Meet Stephen Schwartz, DO

Dr. Stephen H. Schwartz earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Pennsylvania – Pennsylvania Hospital, where he also served an additional year as Chief Resident. He went on to complete his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

Dr. Schwartz held multiple academic and leadership roles, including clinical instructor and co-chair of quality improvement committees. He has authored numerous abstracts, case reports, and peer-reviewed publications in gastroenterology and internal medicine. His research interests include quality improvement, endoscopic outcomes, and gastrointestinal microbiota in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) patients. He has particular clinical interests in IBD and general gastroenterology. Dr. Schwartz is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).

Outside of medicine, Dr. Schwartz is a competitive tennis player, avid skier and runner, and enjoys hiking with his wife, two children, and goldendoodle.
