Meet Ryan Urbas, DO

Dr. Ryan Urbas graduated from PCOM and went on to do his internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at Lankenau Medical Center. While an internal medicine resident, he was awarded the Michael Manko MD Resident Teaching Award. After fellowship, he spent his first four years in practice in academic medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, Department of Gastroenterology in Philadelphia, mainly out of Pennsylvania Hospital. There, he trained medical students, internal medicine and general surgery residents and GI fellows in both inpatient and outpatient care and GI procedures. He also lectured for both the internal medicine residents at Pennsylvania Hospital and the GI Fellows at the University of Pennsylvania. He also participated in teaching the GI pathophysiology course for medical students at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania for 3 of those years. He received the prestigious Radhika Srinavasan Award for Humanitarian and Professionalism in 2021 from the University of Pennsylvania Gastroenterology and Hepatology Division. Dr. Urbas has a special interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, however is well versed in esophagology, functional GI disorders and liver disease and other aspects of general GI. He joined USDH in June of 2022.
