Dear Patient:
After more than 50 years of medical practice, Dr. Richard Panicco has decided to retire and start a new chapter in his life. Dr. Panicco’s last day of active practice was November 21, 2025. Dr. Philip Joson also began the retirement process this year and will be ending his part time services in the very near future.
As a result of the retirements, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue services from the Washington office for the foreseeable future. Our Washington office will see patients who are scheduled at the office through late December, with a plan to formally close the office location on December 31, 2025.
US Digestive Health (USDH) will continue to offer services at our other locations. We currently have numerous GI Physicians and Advanced Providers available and accepting new patients at our Uniontown office (contact information below). Additional USDH locations can be found on our website at USDigestiveHealth.com. Please feel free to contact our Washington office (contact information below) and we can assist you in identifying a new GI provider within USDH. Local services are available through Pittsburgh Gastroenterology Associates (contact information below). You may also contact your health plan or area hospitals for additional gastroenterology providers in your network.
Should you not contact us, your records will continue to be maintained by USDH as required and are available to physicians within our practice for continuity of care. You have the right to choose your health care provider, and USDH remains committed to fully supporting your decision. Your medical records will be released to your new provider upon request from either you or your new provider.
You may obtain a copy of your medical record by contacting the Washington office through January 15, 2026. After January 15, 2026, requests should be directed to our Corporate office.
