Dr. Shih earned his MD at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He completed his Residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and his Gastroenterology Fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and has been practicing Gastroenterology since 2004.
His areas of interest are inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and liver disease.
Dr. Shih has privileges at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital, WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital and UPMC Pinnacle Lititz.
He is active serving charitable and community interest including sitting on the GI Board Exam Committee of the American Board of Internal Medicine and as a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology.
Physician and pianist, Dr. Shih has a remarkable dual career as both full-time practicing gastroenterologist and actively concerting pianist. He is an avid chamber musician who regularly performs with world-class artists, ensembles and principals of major orchestras across the nation. He won the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition for Outstanding Amateurs in 2011.
Dr. Shih, his wife and three children live in Lancaster.
