Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Whitebloom has served as Chief Medical Officer of US Digestive Health since the company was formed in 2019. He also sits on the Board of Directors of USDH and was a founding partner of the organization. In his role as CMO, he oversees all clinical operations and works closely with the leadership team to ensure that quality care is delivered throughout the organization. Dr. Whitebloom is committed to patient-focused care and has directed several initiatives in this area during his time as CMO. In addition to his role with USDH, Dr. Whitebloom maintains an active gastroenterology practice in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Prior to USDH, he served on the boards of several local healthcare systems and was active in quality and patient safety initiatives.

Dr. Whitebloom earned his B.S. in Chemistry from Northwestern University and his medical degree from Midwestern University/CCOM. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey followed by his Gastroenterology Fellowship at Midwestern/CCOM.

He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and has been in practice since 1990.

He is a member of the Pennsylvania Society of Gastroenterology, the Central Penn GI Society, and the American Gastroenterology Association.

His areas of interest are inflammatory bowel disease, gastroesophageal reflux, and irritable bowel syndrome. Dr. Whitebloom has privileges at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, UPMC Lititz and Penn State Hospital Lancaster.

He and his wife live in Lancaster and in his free time, he enjoys travel, golf, and gardening as well as spending time with family, friends, and his dog Ted.
